Our Story

Born from a small celebration

One evening at our kitchen table in Los Angeles, our days felt too full and tiring, and we were looking for a way to soften the edges. We lit a candle. We shared cookies from a cute ceramic cookie jar we loved. In that moment—bathed in the glow of the flame, enjoying something sweet—we felt comfort and joy slip quietly into the day.

We realized that sometimes what we need in life isn’t more hustle. It’s a small celebration in the middle of a real day. A pause to mark little wins, to soften hard moments, to feel truly seen—today. These are the moments that become the inspiration we carry with us through our life’s journey.

With that candlelight dancing in front of us and the ceramic jar holding our shared joy, a thought came: What if these two things became one? Something that could bring comfort and joy right now—while the flame flickers and the scent drifts through the room—and then, later, live on as a keepsake jar, ready to be filled with snacks, trinkets, or smiles.

That night, we sketched a few playful ceramic designs on paper. And that’s how Graces Design was born.

The name was inspired by the Three Graces from Greek mythology—three goddesses who embody joy, beauty, and charm. Qualities we hope to bring into everyday life through our creations. For us, “Graces Design” is about capturing those timeless, life-brightening moments and shaping them into keepsakes you can hold.

We create ceramic candles inspired by the joys we find in everyday life: a square of chocolate after dinner, cheesecake with a friend, lemonade on a Sunday morning, popcorn on movie night, and so on. Each piece is hand-finished and filled with clean soy wax for a gentle, beautiful burn—a reminder to celebrate the ordinary yet wonderful little wins in life.

Whether it’s drinking enough water before noon, remembering to take your vitamins, crossing the last thing off today’s to-do list, or even finding a forgotten snack in your pantry—these moments deserve tiny rituals to mark and remember them. Because these small pauses are what help us breathe when day are full and tiring.

And when the light is out, the vessel stays—holding flowers, rings, spoons, and small smiles, keeping alive the memory of the past beautiful moments it once lit.

Grace Notes, tucked inside every order

Every candle we send carries a little handwritten Grace Note—like the
kind of message you’d get from a friend who cares. Sometimes it’s a gentle reminder to savor your morning coffee. Sometimes it’s a quiet cheer for the tiny victories that make up your week.

We’ve been told these notes end up taped to mirrors, slipped into journals, or pinned to fridges where they’re seen every day. They’re our way of tucking a bit of light into your life—a gentle nudge that even the smallest moments are worth pausing for, smiling at, and celebrating.

An invitation

From our table to yours: bring one home, light a little celebration, and keep the joy long after the flame fades. Use the vessel. Save the note. Let these small rituals make space for grace in the middle of your very real, very beautiful life.
